How Can I Find A Responsible Breeder?

Looking for a responsible breeder?  Look no further!

"Responsible breeder" is an oxymoron.  Millions of loving, healthy and adoptable dogs and cats are euthanized in shelters in the United States every year.  Anyone who is pumping more cats and dogs into the adoption pool is taking away homes from desperate homeless animals.

It doesn't matter why they are breeding:  for money or the love of the breed.  The fact remains that they are contributing to pet overpopulation.

If you *must*  have a purebred, there are plenty of purebreds in shelters and in breed-specific rescues!  To find a shelter or rescue near you, visit petfinder.com.

HELP STOP THE NEEDLESS KILLING OF CATS AND DOGS IN SHELTERS!  You can help by spaying and neutering your pets and never purchasing an animal (this includes ferrets, rabbits, hamsters, et cetera) when you could adopt one from a rescue or shelter, and encourage others to do the same.  You will feel great that you helped save lives instead of lining someone's pockets.

At FRA, we are doing our best to stop pet overpopulation.  Are you?
