Adoption Center Volunteers

Shelter Builders

We need volunteers 18 years of age of older to help care for our cats at our Petco adoption centers located in Owings Mills and Glen Burnie. The cages need to be kept neat and clean, the food and water replaced and the litter boxes scooped. It only takes a few minutes to do and is crucial to our organization. Do one or more day a week, mornings or evenings.

Like making things?  You can make shelters for cats to keep them warm in the cold winter months and beyond.  The basic construction involves cutting holes into plastic storage containers and lining them with styrofoam, but more complicated structures can be built out of wood.  These simple structures may be the difference between life and death for feral cats.  You will be provided with instructions and reimbursed for any expenses incurred.

  Foster Families Feeders

Foster families temporarily house and care for one or more cats or kittens. All you need to provide is a safe, clean and loving environment, plenty of TLC, and make sure the cat has a clean litter box and fresh food and water.

Cleaning and Disinfecting Equipment

We're serious!  We are always looking for photographers (especially professional ones) to get glamour shots of our kitties.  You can simply drop by our adoption events, get your pictures, and then email them to us!  It is very informal but can be a great way to help get cats adopted.  Visit our adoption page for dates/times/locations of our upcoming events. Can you commit to helping clean traps and carriers once every few weeks?  You would pick them up in Randallstown, take them to a self-serve car wash about 5 minutes away, hose them off inside and out, spray them with a bleach solution (provided), allow it to sit for 10 minutes, hose them off again and drop them off where you picked them up.  Usually takes less than an hour, and we give you cash for the car wash.

Flyer Distribution

Anyone can help raise money or increase adoptions for FRA! Post flyers for us in coffee shops, at pet supply stores, and in community areas. Please print these flyers or email us to request that we mail you some for distribution in your area.
