Volunteering with FRA
Meet some of our great volunteers!
| Adoption Center Volunteers |
|
Trap/Hold/Transport |
|
We need volunteers 18 years of age of older to help care for our cats at our Petco adoption center located in Owings Mills. The cages need to be kept neat and clean, the food and water replaced and the litter boxes scooped. It only takes a few minutes to do and is crucial to our organization. Do one or more day a week, mornings or evenings.
MORNING AND EVENING VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
** Also looking for people to help at adoption events as needed, Saturdays **
|
We need reliable people to help us transport cats to and/or from the spay/neuter clinic. We also really need help with holding cats overnight before and after the clinics. They would remain in traps. |

| Temporary Caretakers/Fosters | Feeders | |
|
Foster families temporarily house and care for one or more cats or kittens. All you need to provide is a safe, clean and loving environment, plenty of TLC, and make sure the cat has a clean litter box and fresh food and water.
Fosters are needed for adult cats, litters of kittens, feral kittens needing socialization, bottle babies, and nursing moms.
You would foster the cat as long as you were comfortable or until the point of adoption. It would be helpful if you would allow visitations with potential adopters in your home but we can also arrange to do them elsewhere.
You must be 18 or older. If you are not the homeowner or primary leaseholder we will need their permission. We strongly prefer that you drive and live within 30 minutes of Pikesville.

Caring folks are desperately needed to distribute food and water to various sites containing stray and feral cats. Please email us to learn about how you can get involved with a cat colony in your area.

Laundry |
||
| We go through a lot of towels and cat beds! We need someone to make weekly (?) trips to the laundromat to clean them for us. Can you give two hours a week to help with this? | ||

Flyer Distribution |
Shelter Builders |
|
| Anyone can help raise money or
increase adoptions for FRA! Post flyers for us in coffee shops, at pet
supply stores, and in community areas. Please print these flyers or
email us to request that we mail you some for distribution in your area.

Like making things? You can make shelters for cats to keep them warm in the cold winter months and beyond. The basic construction involves cutting holes into plastic storage containers and lining them with styrofoam. These simple structures may be the difference between life and death for feral cats. You will be provided with instructions and reimbursed for any expenses incurred. |
